Bio <\/summary>\n

Johannes Mundinger was born 1982 in Offenburg, Germany, and is based in Berlin.
He graduated from M\u00fcnster School of Design, and also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Brussels.

His work often refers to it\u00b4s certain environment or certain places, dealing with historical or social context or playing aesthetically with given elements or atmospheres, that are used as a base from where the motive is developed.

He has exhibited with institutions and galleries, such as the Kunstverein Freiburg, Museum Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven, Germany or Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow, Russia. He had his first institutional solo exhibition at Kunstverein Offenburg in 2017 and his first Museum exhibition at Yeoju Museum, Korea, 2020. Together with Sophia Hirsch he won the jury prize of the Berliner Kunstverein, for their installation Kritische Masse, in 2013.
Mundinger was invited as artist in Residence to Israel, South Korea or Serbia. His murals can be found in many European cities, but also in Mexico City, Jerusalem or Atlantic City.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n

\"\" Raum www<\/strong>
Founded in collaboration with Daniel Hahn, in the beginning of the first German Covid-lockdown in 2020. Raum www started as online archive with which we collected exhibitions and cultural projects that had to be cancelled, postponed or closed due to the Corona pandemic:

Soon we started to experiment with ways to exhibit beyond the classical white cube.
We invited artists to exhibit in a public park (ok park, Auerpark Berlin, June 202) or to project videos onto a gallery window (Play, Hilbertraum, November 2020), we raffled off a traveling exhibition for private housholds (Hausarbeit<\/a>, Berlin, March – May 2021) and made a book with answers from about 240 artists how they were dealing with the pandemic (Nothing\u00b4s gonna change my world?<\/a> released with an interactive exhibition at gr_und, Berlin).
The latest project was an exhibition with guest curators Julia Meyer-Brehm and Pola van den Hoevel, with 36 artists in a former air raid shelter in Berlin.

\"\" Feldforschung<\/a><\/strong>
I\u2019m talking with farmers and neighbors of barns and sheds in the countryside.
From these conversations I\u2019m developing motifs to paint them onto the buildings, I take up the stories of the people or what I learn about the building and environment, about its use and function during the times.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n
